It’s hard to believe that our playground is 1 year old. Like any precious child in their first year Clarecastle has watched each development milestone with pride. We have watched the seasons come and go bringing different colours and textures as the months passed by. The trees have grown taller and the grass has grown longer as the playground settled into it’s new surroundings. Rarely do you pass without seeing children enjoying this wonderful amenity.
The highlight of the year was the official opening in May when some very special guests visited the playground to watch a thousand balloons that were released to mark the significant day.
We have some cosmetic work to do over the next few weeks such as pulling stray weeds, replenishing the sand and removing chewing gum stains from the paths and mats. Can we take this opportunity to remind parents that chewing gum is not allowed in the playground.
We would love to hear what you would like to see in the playground next year. Keep an eye on the webpage and facebook for upcoming events.
Once again we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of the playground over the past year. A massive thanks to the team of fairies who are busy keeping the playground looking so well. To those who supported our Balloon launch, those who contributed to our church gate collection, those who attended our Halloween and Christmas discos’ and above all those who see-sawed, slid and swung in all weathers in the playground go raibh maith agat.
