Clarecastle on Shannon Estuary Way – Clarecastle Community Development Company CLG has actively engaged with Failte Ireland to promote a Shannon Estuary Way to compliment the Wild Atlantic Way. Clarecastle was delighted with Failte Ireland’s announcement of a pilot initiative to promote a 207km estuary drive from Killimer to Limerick and on to Tarbert that links in with the Wild Atlantic Way and creates tourism potential for towns and villages along the route. Clarecastle Community Development Ltd worked hard to ensure that Clarecastle featured as one of Clare nominated Locations on the map. The Estuary Way was launched in Glin on 16th June 2017 with Clarecastle featuring on the Map and details of viewing points to be confirmed subject to further research. As one of the 6 Failte Ireland designated locations on the Clare shoreline for special promotion -Clarecastle Village will benefit from significant domestic and international visitors with consequentialincreases in heritage awareness, public realm investment and direct economic impact for local businesses.
